David Gordon named Team Challenge Regional Cycling Coach

Posted on 12th Feb 2012 @ 1:59 PM

The Urbane Cyclist is pleased to announce that co-owner and USA Cycling Coach David Gordon will be coaching this season for Team Challenge of the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA). Team Challenge is CCFA’s endurance training and fundraising branch. Each athlete’s participation helps raise awareness and monetary support for Crohn’s and colitis research. As their New England Regional Cycling Coach, David will help support and develop Team Challenge riders as they prepare for their 50 mile event on June 24, 2012 in scenic Lake George, New York. Team Challenge riders will receive training plans from David as well as hands-on coaching each week leading up to the event.

The CCFA is a non-profit organization dedicated to finding a cure for Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, two chronic conditions which affect 1.4 million Americans. Since 1967, the foundation has been credited with launching a whole new field of research on inflammatory bowel disease and serves to fund medical research studies, nurture promising young investigators, and finance underdeveloped areas of innovation and research.

The Urbane Cyclist wants to congratulate David on this exciting venture and encourage all those who are interested to visit the Team Challenge website here.
