Hit the ground rolling at top speed this coming spring by staying on your bike all winter long. The Urbane Cyclist offers three unique nights of indoor cycling to suite your training plan’s goals and needs. Sessions vary in duration and intensity to create a progression of sessions that is sure to challenge, inspire, and produce results.
Workouts by Night
The week begins on Monday with sessions lead by David or Clara with an emphasis on higher intensity interval training, designed to stress your VO2 max as well as your lactate threshold. Through a step-wise progression of fatigue and recovery, we can help this winter become a build period, not just maintenance.
Wednesday nights will be lead by David or Clara with a focus on cycling specific skills and drills to help improve your technique in given area of cycling. Drills may emphasize areas such as cadence, tempo intervals, sprinting, simulated hill climbing, and much more. Through these exercises, you will not only improve your fitness but your actual efficiency, economy, and power.
Back by popular demand is Friday Night Spinema, which entails a full length feature film enjoyed by the group. Ride at your own pace for the benefit of long, steady distance miles to increase your overall endurance. Movie selections vary by week. Check Facebook for details.

About the Coach
Guided workouts are crafted by USA Cycling Certified Coach and The Urbane Cyclist co-owner, David Gordon. David has been riding and racing since the mid-nineteen nineties when he began as a promising junior racer with the Ann Arbor Velo Club in Michigan. David raced road and mountain bikes through college and beyond. Most recently, he enjoys racing road and cyclocross and riding mountain bikes recreationally. Through his nearly two decades of competitive cycling, David cultivated an appreciation for the challenge of attaining quality workouts while still making time for a 9-to-5 job and family. It is with this sense of balance and a keen eye for workout quality vs. quantity that David creates the guided indoor sessions.
